Birçok antikonvülzan psikiyatrik bozuklukların (özellikle affektif bozuklukların), tedavisinde umut verici görünmektedir. Bunlardan Karbamazepin, Valporik asit ve Klonazepam'ın psikiyatrik bozukluklardaki etkinlikleri tartışılmıştır.

Anticonvulsants in psychiatry

Many anticonvulsant agents have been found to be effective in the treatment of psychiatric disorders; especially the affective disorders. Among these agents, carbamazepine, valporic acid and clonazepam were discussed for their effects in psychiatric disorders.
