Amaç: Depresif Belirti Envanteri (DBE) (Inventory for Depressive
Symptomatology) (IDS) Rush ve arkadaşları tarafından geliştirilmiş
hem klinisyenin değerlendirdiği (DBE-K) hem de özbildirim (DBE-Ö)
formları olan, böylece depresif belirtilerin değerlendirilmesinde her iki
boyutun incelenmesine olanak sağlayan bir ölçektir. Bu çalışmada 30
maddelik DBE-K ve DBE-Ö’nin Türkçe çevirisinin depresyonlu
hastalarda güvenirlik ve geçerlik incelemesi amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Çalışmaya Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Psikiyatri
polikliniğine son bir yıl içinde ardışık olarak başvuran, DSM-IV-TR
ölçütlerine göre majör depresif bozukluk (MDB) tanısını karşılayan 44
hasta alınmıştır. Hastalarla tanısal klinik görüşme sonunda iki gün
arayla, iki oturumda DBE-K30, DBE-Ö30 ve Hamilton Depresyon
Derecelendirme Ölçeği (HDDÖ17) uygulanmıştır.
Bulgular: Çalışma, yaş ortalaması 41.4±9.3, eğitim ortalaması 11.1 yıl
olan 37 kadın ve 7 erkek katılımcıdan oluşmuştur. Türkçe ölçeklerin iç
tutarlılık düzeyleri Cronbach alfa iç tutarlılık katsayıları DBE-K30 (0.92),
DBE-Ö30 (0.88) yeterince güvenilir bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin test-tekrar
test güvenirliği DBE-K30 için 0.87, DBE-Ö30 için 0.78 bulunmuştur.
Ölçeklerden elde edilen depresyon şiddetini belirten alt tanılar
arasındaki uyuşma düzeyi belirlemek için kappa katsayısı (0.47,
p<0.01) yeterli bulunmuştur. Benzer ölçek geçerliği için ölçeklerle
beraber uygulanan HDDÖ ile yüksek bir ilişki katsayısı olduğu
bulunmuştur (r=0.65, p<0.01).
Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda DBE-K30 ve DBE-Ö30 yüksek “iç
tutarlılık ve madde-toplam test korelasyon katsayıları” göstermiştir.
Test-tekrar test incelemesinde ölçeklerin güvenilirliği yüksek
bulunmuştur. Klinisyen ve özbildirim formları arasında yüksek bir
korelasyon düzeyi bulunmaktadır. HDDÖ ile karşılaştırılarak yapılan
benzer ölçek geçerliği yüksektir. İleri çalışmalarda ölçeklerin tedaviyle
ortaya çıkan değişimlere duyarlığı incelenmelidir.

Objective: The IDS Clinician Rated (IDS-C) and IDS Self-Report (IDS-SR)
forms both cover the same symptoms with corresponding response
scales so that a direct comparison between these two perspectives
can be undertaken in the evaluation of depressive symptoms (Rush et
al. 1986, 1996). This study provides an analysis of the validity and
reliability of the Turkish version of the 30-item IDS-C and IDS-SR in a
group of Turkish depressive patients.
Method: The patient sample consisted of consecutive referrals to the
psychiatry outpatient clinic of Gazi University School of Medicine. After
diagnostic assessment according to DSM IV-TR, all patients
completed the HDRS17, IDS-SR30, and IDS-C30 on two occasions
within two days.
Results: Forty-four patients with major depressive disorders were
included in the study. Thirty-seven patients were female and seven
were male. The mean age of the patients was 41.4 (SD=9.3) with a
mean education period of 11.1 [year]s. Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient
analysis was conducted in order to evaluate the reliability of the
instruments. The coefficient alphas for IDS-SR30 and IDS-C30 were
0.92 and 0.88, respectively, indicating that the reliability of the two
scales in the Turkish population is high. Test-retest and inter-rater
reliabilities of the IDS-SR30 and IDS-C30 within 2 days were 0.87 and
0.78 respectively. The Kappa coefficient was calculated and the level
of agreement of the scale was found to be adequate (kappa= 0.47,
p<0.01). Concurrent validity of the scales was investigated by HDRS.
The correlation coefficient for HDRS and the IDS-SR was 0.65 (p<0.01)
while the same value was 0.70 (p<0.01) for IDS-C30. It can therefore
be concluded that the Turkish form of the scale has adequate validity.
Conclusion: This study showed reasonable internal validity and testretest
reliability for the Turkish version of IDS-C and IDS-SR. There was
high concurrent validity between the IDS-C and HRDS in Turkish
patients with major depressive disorders. Further studies should be
done to demonstrate sensitivity of the scales to change of depressive
symptoms during depression treatment.
